radar detection radius per luminaire
One kit, two node types.
The Sense Kit is also a system. The EVL-Sense sits on the luminaire and measures via radar, EVL-Connect gateways connect everything into one network.

EVL-Sense Node
Control, monitoring and sensor node. Sits on the lower Zhaga socket so the radar has a clear view downward. Everything from the Core, plus mmWave radar.

EVL-Connect Node
The router of the streetlight network. Replaces a Sense on its mast, builds the mesh network and sends the bundled data from all surrounding luminaires to the cloud.
EVL-Sense and EVL-Connect are both included in the kit. The Sense belongs on the lower Zhaga socket so the radar has a clear view of the ground beneath the mast.
How the network between luminaires is built.
All nodes communicate over a 2.4 GHz mesh with AES-128 encryption. Each node passes messages on to its neighbors, and about every 50 to 100 devices an EVL-Connect gateway uploads the bundled data to the EnvioTerminal.

Self healing mesh
If a luminaire fails, the signal automatically finds a new path. No single point of failure.
One gateway per 50 to 100 luminaires
EVL-Connect replaces a Sense on its mast and additionally handles the connection to the cloud in Germany.
Stable even during power outages
An integrated, non flammable battery keeps the processor and radio active so the network never loses its state.
The node that can read your city without watching it.
Camera free mmWave radar
Detects motion and direction within about 7 m, entirely without a camera and without identifying people.
Motion based presence light
The luminaire brightens as soon as someone enters the zone, then automatically dims back down.
GDPR compliant by design
Radar instead of camera: no images, no personal data, at no point in time.
Anonymous people counting
Counts pedestrian flows for urban planning, as a data basis for further smart city services.
All Core features included
Remote control, dimming, light color and full D4i data readout are included.
Full EnvioTerminal integration
Sensor data and control come together centrally in the live twin.
Use cases
- 1Presence lighting in residential areas, parks and paths, safe and efficient at the same time.
- 2Motion lighting in industrial and commercial areas during off peak hours.
- 3Anonymous traffic and occupancy data for planning and operations.
- 4Building an expandable sensor infrastructure for further smart city services.
